Set in biblical times, Where is my father? The story of Job depicts a community of believers in their quest to understand the will and ways of God. However, in their quest, they neglect to realize that they are limited by their own intelligence. God’s ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts. As Job, a prosperous, righteous, man in the community struggles to understand why God has forsaken him, his friends believe that he must have done something wrong or else God would not be punishing him. They do not even acknowledge or know that there is an adversary at work. The story shows how our enemy is always looking for ways to accuse and destroy us, and how God allows some testing of our faith even though he isn’t always the punisher or perpetrator of our trials and tribulations. This timeless story has been told over and over again and never gets old. It is inspiring and encourages us to have faith even in the midst of our most difficult times because we are reminded that no matter how hard it is to believe sometimes, the truth is God is ALWAYS with us. The world and everything in it is still and will always be in his hands. The cinematography and production of Where is my father? The Story of Job was authentic and well done. Pivotal dialogue from the scriptures was included adding to the authenticity of the story. This film is a MUST for every Christian household’s movie/video library. It would also make a great gift for anyone because we all go through rough times and need to be reminded that God is always with us.
