When we added the ability to tag content by country or language over a year ago, what seemed like a simple needed upgrade could not be fully realized until now.
Back then we had about 5-6,000 videos. And all of them would need to be reviewed and tagged with the appropriate language and country. Considering that many of those were uploaded by our members. Some with little detail of the source or type of content. This task seem just outside of our reach. But we began…every new video we would upload or review, we would tag or correct. Our members also did their part and specified the country of the content as well.
We went back and started editing past content when there was spare time or labor available. But we knew that we could not have search or browsing by country available until the vast majority of this was accomplished. We have had a passion for multi-language content and ministry, ever since we served as the webmaster of the late B.H. Clendennon’s School of Christ International building a system to handle content in numerous languages. And for mission society Project Partners in Christ, then for my dear friend Donna Thomas of Christian Vision Ministries for almost 10 years. The Gospel, in their language, from those in their culture is far more powerful than a foreigner telling you that your god is wrong, and mine is right. Jesus will not only be preached in every language, but He will be glorified in every tongue, people group language and culture.
As Media Missionary’s trueGOD Television is working to bring just one part of the vision to pass. Our goal is to have video content broadcasting in the 300+ languages that represent 95% of the population of the world. Today we are one step closer.
Launched today, you can search by language or country from the thousands of videos uploaded to trueGOD Television. When viewing any video, if defined, you can click on the Video Detail, then on the country or language to view all of the content we have in that country or language. This also makes it easier to setup channels for specific countries or send links to friends to a specific language of content. We have continued to improve our new shorter URLs that can accommodate countries, languages, searches, video types, video genres and music genres as well. This is important for search engines and mobile content.

There is still a lot to do, not just on the technology side, but we are in desperate need of more, trusted, doctrinally pure Christian content in the over 100 languages we currently have, and more languages needed. We need to continue to translate our core site technology in more than the 26 languages we currently have. And to fix holes in the languages we currently have. Each time we add a new feature, some or all of the content of that feature needs to be translated into 26 languages. Or we have the feature available, but only limited to those who speak English.
We have more tools coming to make it easier to find content in our site. Pray for us, and help if you can. A man of God once said, “Either we are in the well, or holding the rope, and your dedication is defined by the rope burns.” There are no spectators in this work for our King.
