Global Christian Internet Television? A reality 2 years running!
When God spoke to Franklin Mayfield, founder of trueGOD.tv 4 years ago, and said “Internet Television”, he knew instantly the full meaning of that statement. Mr. Mayfield had been broadcasting live services for ministries for years by this time, and had many success stories to tell. But what God had just spoken into his heart was far more. Immediately Franklin said, “yes Lord”. Knowing that God was not asking him to do something possible for him to do, in his own strength. Franklin had been saved 25 years before, and has learned that God alone will get glory for what He has just commanded.
With 2 years of planning, and struggling to launch, then a sudden breakthrough on the core of the technology allowed this thing called “Christian Internet Television” to be born. There were many who went before and blazed a trail broadcasting online. But this approach is not their’s. And because God has birthed this work, when the time was right it exploded. On February 1, 2008, they launched.
Within the first month the site was listed in Alexa (unheard of). The site traffic was growing during the first 3 months by over 1700%. Within the first 7 months, trueGOD.tv achieved 7.7 million hits, 220 countries in a months time, reached the top 100,000 websites 6 times. And within the top 50,000 once. And all they could say, “that God was doing exceeding abundantly above anything we could ask or think”, on a weekly basis!
And with this amazing victory, there were many struggles, Mr. Mayfield’s wife, of 10 years died of cancer on Christmas Eve, 2008. A partner in the work turned from friend to foe. Financial difficulties and more. But God is faithful, and through every challenge, every battle, God’s grace, His grace has been sufficient.
On December 1, 2009 the site relaunched with a name change, new look and a lot of new technology. Stronger, Harder, Younger. With thousands of videos, trueGOD.tv celebrates it’s second year anniversary announcing the following:
