Arletia Mayfield (formerly Arletia McInnis) is known as The Prophetic Scribe. She is the author of For the Love of God, a collection of praise and Worship Poems, published in 2005. She is currently working on a Christian Journal Series under her own publishing company, The Prophetic Scribe Publications.
Arletia was a guest poet and speaker on several local Christian radio and television programs during her 12 year stay in Las Vegas, Nevada where she received the call to ministry. Her media background stems from college where she majored in Radio and Television Broadcasting. In the early years of her broadcasting career, she interviewed renowned guests and hosted her own television program featuring original poetry on public television (PCTV in Oakland, CA). Also, she served as a host for a video show on a local cable television station (Soul Beat in Oakland, CA).
Internet Radio Shows
In 2005, Arletia hosted two Internet radio programs for Torchbearer International, an Internet radio station in Las Vegas, Nevada
1) The Prophetic Scribe Writer’s Forum featured Christian writers, and invited the audience to call in to discuss topics like: Self Publishing Basics, Marketing Strategies, Script writing and more.
2) The Prophetic Scribe Poetry Hour featured poets from all around the world, as well as spoken word and scripture reading to contemporary or smooth jazz music .
Health & Healing CD
The Health & Healing CD was produced and performed via live radio broadcast in 2005 by The Prophetic Scribe. It is a compilation of spoken word from the book, For the Love of God and scripture from the King James Version of the Holy Bible. The accompanying music is by contemporary jazz musician, Larry White, from the album “Unsolicited Material”. Music was used by permission for the purpose of ministry.
Workshops and Writing Classes
Arletia has taught for the Recreation and Parks Department of the City of Henderson for four years. Class descriptions include: Creative Writing, Self-Publishing, Journal Writing and Amateur Web Site Building for Whitney Ranch Recreation Center in Henderson, Nevada. Also, she taught an Amateur Web Building Class for Clark County Parks and Recreation Department and the Community College of Southern Nevada.
In addition, she served as West Coast Director of Voices of Christ Literary Ministries International in Georgia from 2005-2009, learning about the ministry of the scribe and teaching Christian-focused writing workshops.
